Food Pantry
The Edison Enterprise Baptist Church Food Pantry is open for food distribution the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month from noon to 6:00 p.m. The Pantry's service area includes Mt. Gilead and the surrounding area. We serve people regardless of religious, ethnic or political affiliation. Each client is given as need and available, provisions to supplement other food resources.
The Food Pantry feeds more than 500 families every month which require not only the dedication of volunteers and financial input from many sources, but also a facility in which to store the food and serve the people whom we help. We depend completely on donations of food and money for our operation. There are no salaried positions and operating costs are kept to a minimum.
Clients are sometimes referred to additional community resources to meet the variety of needs clients have in addition to food. The Food Pantry may offer nutritional education to all clients periodically.
Matthew 25:37-40 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed [thee]? or thirsty, and gave [thee] drink? … And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done [it] unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done [it] unto me.
